It is located approximately 30 km from the center of Baku in the suburb of Surakhany. Yanar Dagh (“Burning Mountain”)
In the second part of visit, after visiting the temple you will go directly to “Yanar Dag” (“Burning Mountain”), located not too far from Ateshgah Temple. It is the most famous and popular tourist site of the “eternal flame” in Azerbaijan. Actually, it is rather a hill than a mountain, with natural gas burning on its slope from ancient times.
Hyder Aliyev Centre (Outside)
It is a 619,000 sq. ft. building complex in Baku, Azerbaijan designed by Iraqi-British architect Zaha Hadid. The Heydar Aliyev Centre represents a fluid form which emerges by the folding of the
landscape’s natural topography and by the wrapping of individual functions of the Centre. All functions of the Center, together with entrances, are represented by folds in a single continuous surface.
Day 3: Baku City and Old Town Tour
After breakfast, explore Baku’s past, present, and future on a half-day city tour. Start in Icharishahar (Old Town) with narrow streets, historic sites, and local stories. Visit the Fountain Square, once full of oil magnates’ mansions, and the Museum of Miniature Books. Discover the Shirvanshahs’ Palace, learn its history, and visit the Maiden Tower, the symbol of Baku.
After a lunch break with Azerbaijani cuisine, continue to Baku Boulevard and see Little Venice. Explore the Carpet Museum, enjoy a ride on the Baku Funicular, and marvel at the Flame Towers. Visit Martyrs’ Lane for a history of Azerbaijan’s fight for independence, then head to Daghustu Park for panoramic views. End the tour with a ride on the Baku Ferris Wheel.

The tour will start off from Gobustan Museum, where you will see ancient human bones, work tools used back to thousand years ago during the Mesolithic period. Gobustan geographical region is situated in the west-south of Baku. The meaning of the word «Gobustan» is derived from two words «gobu» – «ravine» and «stan»- «place», i.e. ravine area. The word «gobu» is also of Turkic origin and means «a dried up river valley».
After visiting Gobustan Museum, you will advance to the mountain in order to see real rock paintings in the open air museum. Later on, the tour will proceed to the Mud Volcano which is 20 mins away from Gobustan National Museum. Azerbaijan keeps the first place in the world for the number of mud volcanoes. About 300 mud volcanoes are to be found in Azerbaijan – at the shore, in the sea and on islands. The waterfall is situated in the wood near the main road near West of Vandam. Although the waterfall is hard to climb, it is worth visiting. Each year thousands of people visit the waterfall. It is only entirely Jewish outside of Israel and U.S. later visit Khinaliq, khinaliq is an ancient Caucasian village going back to Caucasian Albanian Period.
